New Committee Structure

Hello to all Tulsa Archery members and a big welcome to all new members for 2009!

This is John Nelson, one of five new committee members for this year. I am writing this to inform the membership of the change in the officer positions. There were no volunteers for three offices: President, Secretary and Treasurer. Since these positions were not filled, there was a motion to run the club by committee for one year. Five people volunteered for the committee. One person volunteered to be Secretary and another volunteered to be Treasurer. This new system was voted on and approved by the membership.

These members are excited to be in these positions. They are motivated and have many ideas to organize, promote and strengthen our archery club. I am confident that this new direction will have a very positive effect on our members, new members, soon-to-be members and all aspects of who we are and what we do.

My hope is that all of you will grasp the handle and dig in deep here at Tulsa Archery Association!

There will be information coming via e-mail, the website, information board and newsletter. Please plan to come to the bi-monthly membership meetings held the first Tuesday of every odd month at 7:00 p.m. Hope to see all of you soon.

Range and Clubhouse Improvements

If you have visited the club in the past few months, you know that TAA has undertaken a huge and much needed project. We are in the process of adding onto our indoor range. The addition will include a new kitchen, storage cabinet, heater closet, mechanical closet and, finally, indoor plumbing. Fifty years without a toilet is a long time. Many people have donated time, talents and materials to get us to this point. There is no way we could have accomplished what we have without their generosity to our club and they will be acknowledged properly at a later date. Hopefully this update of our facilities will make everyone’s participation in our sport much more enjoyable and be something we can share for many years to come. However, progress does not come without a cost and the price will be a big drain on our finances. TAA dues are very reasonable considering you have 24/7 access and just like our homes, any improvements are over and above the daily budget. We realize not everyone has the time or ability to come out and physically help with the construction but perhaps would like to be a part of this project in some way. In order to accommodate this we would like to give everyone the opportunity to sponsor a portion of our addition with a financial donation. Maybe you would like to purchase a door, a light fixture, a kitchen cabinet or a toilet just to be a part of the history and the future of Tulsa Archery Association. Any donation will be a big help and will also allow us to make needed repairs on the ranges much sooner. If you would like to be a partner in the future of TAA please contact any club officer.

.

AS ALWAYS: WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THE RANGE. COME OUT AND RENEW OLD

FRIENDSHIPS AND MAYBE MAKE SOME NEW ONES.
